Stable Cottage
Stable Cottage is a beautifully converted stable block on the edge of a pretty village in the heart of the Golden Valley. Views are of its big walled and hedged garden with trees and hills beyond, and yet the village and pub are just a short walk away. Stable Cottage adjoins what was once the former rectory, but has its own entrance, terrace, garden and parking area. Here, you will find all the comforts you need for a relaxing time away, plus a wonderful landscape, lovely walks, wild swimming, starry skies to amaze you, and a traditional country pub – all on the doorstep. Sleeps 2-4, plus an infant and a dog.
The spacious interior is light, airy and contemporary, but at the same time super-cosy, with a wonderful woodburner, elevated to produce more warmth. Cooking, eating and relaxing are all open-plan in this one lovely room. A big glazed door opens out onto the patio and garden for enjoying sunny, warm days.
At the end of the cottage, there is a bathroom with bath, shower over, hand basin and loo; a twin bedroom (whose beds can be zipped together to create a king-size bed); and a double bedroom with a double-bed and its own ensuite shower room, hand basin and loo. At the other, there is a useful utility and drying room with washing-machine, coat hooks, and room for removing and stowing wellies and boots. This is a good place for a dog to sleep, and the owners helpfully supply a dog bed.
Immediately outside the cottage is a patio with raised beds planted with herbs, alpine strawberries and other fruits for guests to pick and enjoy. Beyond this is a lovely orchard garden with grasses and wild flowers, a central mowed lawn area, a brick-paved BBQ area, and a fire pit to light and cosy around in the evenings.
